The School

Our mission and history

The Upasana School of Kathak and Odissi Dance was founded and directed by internationally renowned dancer Saveeta Sharma. The level of quality of the school's training has resulted in many of its students successfully receiving scholarships from both the Canadian and Indian government to continue their graduate studies in dance in India's top dance institutions.

Upasana's Ottawa dance studios are located at 111A Rideau Street and in Toronto at its new location at the National Ballet School, 400 Jarvis Street, Toronto.

Upasana welcomes new student of all ages to its School of Dance for private or group classes in Kathak, Odissi and Saveeta's own newly developed creative and innovative style of contemporary dance. Professional dancers are particularly welcome to enroll in the school's dance programs or, possibly, into its professional dance company, Saveeta§Company.
