It is in Delhi where she first saw Odissi being performed when Geneviève feel in love with this beautiful art form. Her sociological interest for cultures and religions was captivated by the sophistication and richness Odissi dance.

Upon her return home, Geneviève found her teacher Guru Saveeta Sharma, artistic director of UPASANA – The Spirit of dance and disciple of Guru Mayadhar Raut. She has been studying Odissi under the guidance of Guru Saveeta Sharma since 2000. She has also had the opportunity to train with Sujata Mohapatra, disciple of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra and work with the Menaka Thakkar Dance Company in Toronto.

Geneviève has performed in numerous venues throughout Canada and the United States, from Vancouver to Gaspé, Yukon to South Carolina.

Through her dance, she wishes to convey messages of openness, understanding and hope. She is presently continuing her advanced training in Odissi at Upasana the Spirit of Dance and is now a member of Saveeta's Company.
